Secrets Puerto Vallarta Bahia Mita: A Review of the Preferred Club Suites

As we stepped into our Preferred Club suite at Secrets Puerto Vallarta Bahia Mita, we were excited to experience the luxurious amenities and services that this adult-only resort had to offer. And while it did come with some perks, we couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed by some of the design choices.

Firstly, let's talk about the good stuff. The suite itself was beautifully decorated, with a spacious balcony offering stunning views of the surrounding jungle. We also enjoyed the added extras that came with our Preferred Club status, including personalized concierge service and priority reservations at the resort's restaurants.

However, as we explored the property further, we began to notice some design elements that didn't quite sit right with us. For one thing, the elevator system was clunky and confusing, requiring us to take multiple elevators just to get from one floor to another. And while we appreciated the tropical surroundings, the resort's focus on concrete rather than greenery made it feel more like a spaceship than a jungle retreat.

But perhaps the biggest drawback for us was the fact that the resort is co-located with a family-friendly property, Dreams Bahia Mita Surf & Spa Resort. While this may not be a problem for some couples, we were looking for a truly adults-only experience and found it difficult to relax amidst the sounds of kids playing in the waterpark or at one of the pools.

If you're like us and prioritize a peaceful, child-free getaway, you may want to consider other options within the AMR Collection portfolio. On the other hand, if you're looking for a lively, family-friendly vacation spot, Secrets Puerto Vallarta Bahia Mita might be just the place for you.

Either way, we do hope that the resort takes our feedback to heart and makes some changes in the future. As it stands, while it's not our top pick for an adults-only retreat, it's still a beautiful property with plenty of potential. With time, we're hopeful that it will grow into its surroundings and become a true tropical oasis.
